The story had a great pace & drew me in, hooking me right to the last page. I really enjoyed this story & am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I was delighted by the evocative details which transported me into another time & place. PD Dawn’s attention to detail quenched my inquisitive mind. This was an especially satisfying read.

Although PD Dawn is a new author, this first novel of hers is a fantastic read & really draws you in. Whether in NZ or to the unflinchingly horrendous reality of WWI battlefields, it’s a hard book to put down. A compelling read with a lovely message of God’s love & mercy woven throughout the story. I highly recommend this book.

Set in the early twentieth century, ‘Because of Mercy’ tells the romantic tale of Rose and Henry. I was unable to put the book down in a race to finish to see whether or not they would end up together. This book is eloquently written, raw and rooted in faith. An easy read and I am looking forward to diving into the next book in the series.

I can heartily recommend this Christian Novel written by a local author but the story is based in the heartland of Te Awamutu at the time of WW1. I was gripped by the story as it unfolded, encompassing heartache, love, intrigue, deception, family life, death and the atrocities of war. Once I started the book I couldn’t put it down, I was keen to see how it progressed, but what I liked most about this book was the way the Christian faith was woven into the stories of the various characters – how their witness brought others into a saving and life-changing faith. You won’t want to put it down either. You will find it inspirational and heartwarming. I can’t wait until the second book in this Coin Trilogy is available.
